Dandruff Home Remedies

Dandruff shampoos are a handy solution for getting rid of those pesky white flakes. The terrible itchy scalp may find relief after shampooing your hair, but this is not a long term solution. After a day or two you again go through the same ordeal. The question hits you that then what to do?  yes its true that dandruff shampoos help you clean your scalp but they don’t help you get rid of the dandruff completely. These shampoos are loaded with all sorts of chemicals that leave your hair dry and brittle. Also it make the scalp more prone to dandruff.

There are many causes of dandruff. It maybe due to a dry scalp. Sometimes its because of a skin condition called seborrheic dermatitis. Other causes maybe eczema, psoriasis and a yeast like fungus called malassezia.  pretty-woman-635258_640

There are some trusted home remedies that will give better results than the medicated shampoos. This was you surely will get rid of the dangerous side effects of those chemicals that cause further other problems.

Vinegar :

It’s a very common house hold item easily available in your home or you can find it in the market as well. Apply it on your scalp with a cotton ball in a dabbing motion covering the whole scalp. Leave it on for half and hour and then wash with any shampoo that suits your hair type. It will not only clear your scalp but it will make your hair very shiny and full of life.

Aspirin:

Aspirin has  the same  components that are present in any of the dandruff shampoos. Grind two tablets, add them to your normal shampoo and massage on your scalp leave for one to two minutes and then rinse well. Wash again with plain shampoo to take out all the residue out of your hair.

Tea Tree Oil:

Tea Tree oil has many medicinal qualities. Studies have shown that it significantly helps fight dandruff. Adding a few drops of this oil to your choice of shampoo can make a difference. You need to keep a check on your scalp condition though.

Yogurt/Curd:

It is a very good and instant dandruff solution. Yogurt helps balance the PH of your scalp because of its acidic ability. Half a cup of yogurt/curd can do the trick. Simply massage it on your scalp and wash off your hair after an hour. You will get luscious clean hair.

 

Baking Soda:

Another very easily available ingredient in your kitchen. Its also very cheap home remedy that works pretty well for fighting that annoying itchy scalp. You need to shampoo your hair before and apply two table spoons of dry baking soda on your scalp. Rub it on your scalp so that the entire scalp is covered. Rinse off your hair with plain water no need to shampoo again. It will make your hair slightly dry but after sometime your scalp will start producing the healthy amount of oily that will keep your hair shiny.

Lemon:

Just massage your scalp with juice of one lemon or as much that covers your scalp. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes rinse off. Do this daily until your scalp is all clear.
